Is there a free website hosting company that will include a website builder but no ads?
I am looking for somewhere to host my website that preferably has a website builder online (although this isn’t essential) that must have no ads on the page. I am not bothered about the address of the website (I have my own address to use).
If you’re from the UK I recommend http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European hosting companies (hosting over 500 000 websites), and they currently have a promotion in the UK. They are offering free hosting and a domain (you have to pay the £9.00 setup fee and that’s it). Every plan includes Photo Gallery, WebEditor (so you can build a website without knowledge of HTML), Google Adwords coupon (so you can advertise your website on google for free) and a lot more. Check them out.
Among the two options of an MCSE Certification or a course for website development which one is better?
Hello,
I am a student of "BA Honors with Double Majors in Finance" and Marketing. For the next two months i am on vacations. I want to utilize this spare time. So i was just wondering which among the two above mentioned courses would be appropriate for me. Moreover as both of these courses are related to computer science, i want to ask if they would be of any use to me?
MCSE and website development both belongs to Computer science field which is of no use in field. Go for some certification in your field in your spare time, like SAP, and others in finance and marketing field.

What is the best (easy) web design software?
I have tried Serif WebPlus but I am looking for something that is better quality. I don’t have much knowledge in web design so a program that is easy to use or easy to learn would be great!
I would not go with Dreamweaver if you are looking for simple!
I have Dreamweaver and it is a fantastic program that runs for $400!
If you want an easy basic learn to design program try CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer (CCVSD)
You can find it at www.coffeecup.com.
Hope it helps

How to showcase my portfolio, sell web design services and hosting?
I´d like to put up a website to showcase my portfolio in design and programming, but I would also like to use the site to sell my skills and design and host web sites for customers. Does that make me a reseller? Is host reselling the option I should look for?
I would appreciate recommendations for which provider to sign up with, I need to publish sites using anything from Drupal to flat file html.
That depends.
Reseller account: Get this if your clients want access to their own control panel, have their own set of settings, and do this kind of stuff themselves.
Regular account: If your clients are mostly small business owners who aren’t technically inclined, you’ll probably be the one to do maintenance for them. In this case you won’t need a reseller account. A regular account would be better since it’s more affordable.
I recommend http://webspacehq.net/ — they offer both regular and reseller accounts. You get unlimited add-on domains, so even if you choose a regular account, you could add and configure your clients’ domains very easily for no extra charge.
How do I transition into a graphic design career?
I currently considering a four year degree in graphic design. I am artistically talented and I have two solid years of foundational art/illustration courses from Ringling School of Art & Design. I also have a marketing background with exposure to CRM, online media, and web analytics tracking.
Does anyone have thoughts on transitioning into the graphic design field?
Well my thoughts are, you sound like you have some background already. Therefore a time consuming 4 year degree program would not benefit you that much. Your question is a little general, and does not list a specific weakness, so it’s hard to diagnose exactly.
In case you don’t already know, you’ll want to learn what design really is by doing some research online.
I’d say pick an area of graphic design that you want to do, like web, identity, illustration, advertising, etc. and build a portfolio of about 10-15 pieces in that area. That may mean getting jobs yourself off of Craigslist, or your local newspaper. It may mean learning various software like Photoshop and Illustrator if you don’t already know them.
Do you want to work alone? In an agency? Full time, part time or contract?
You might want to build some self-promotion pieces and send them out to various companies. (Go to your local library and get Mary Cox’s 2008 Artist and Graphic Designer’s Market for a huge list, and some good tips).
Best of luck.
how long does it take to learn both graphic design n flash animation?
usually do ppl learn both at a time?how?by tking 2 courses?
graphic design is more broad.. it may consist of fine art classes (drawing, painting), technical illustration, Print media/production, web design (html, Flash, Dreamweaver…), exhibition design, packaging, motion graphics and other classes. If you go to a university, it will take about 4 years. If you go to a trade school, maybe only 2 years… but you might not learn as much.
Flash is just one program. Depending how much you want to learn, it can take at least a quarter/semester to know the basics.
I need an eCommerce website for my online store. Does anyone know any good web design companies?
