Is there a good website development program out there for PHP?
I want to find a free program that i can download onto my computer so that i can work on my PHP/MySQL websites WITHOUT being connected to the internet. I think that i would need to have a MySQL version downloaded onto my computer.

Ok, first of all, you need to check our the SEO firm’s experience and ask for client testimonials (as well sample keyword ranking reports) proofing their work and results.
Is the SEO firm’s Web site already ranked for various keyword terms in the major search engines? What competitive search terms is their site ranking for?
Ask them whether they will perform natural or paid-per-click services, or a combination of both for your Web site.
Ask them what their exact procedure and process is for every SEO customer. Do they believe in only performing ethical and fair search engine practices, or will they cloak your site, insert hidden text or other practices considered illegal or unethical in the eyes of search engines. You wouldn’t want your Web site banned in the search engines.
Get pricing information about the SEO program they will be performing for you…do they bill hourly, monthly, annually? Get competitors pricing as well, to determine if the SEO firm you are considering is priced too high or too low below its competitors.
Ask how many Web pages they will handle for you, how many keyword terms they will target for you, how much (if any) link popularity they will do, as well what other SEO services come with your SEO program.
How will you know what keywords you are currently ranking for? What kind of analytics will they be using on your site? How will they track Web site visitors?
What professional business and/or SEO organizations do they belong to? Does anybody on their staff have an SEO certification? What types of college degrees do the staff have at the SEO firm? How long has the SEO firm been in business? how many clients do they have? These questions and others will help you determine which SEO firm to hire to optimize your company’s site.

Designer looking to learn Flash 8 for website development?
I’m an Art Director by trade and use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator on a daily basis. But when it comes to the web I’m behind the times.
I’m interested in learning flash for creating small, simple websites to host my work, but I haven’t touched a web publishing program in quite a few years (Dreamweaver).
Could anyone recommend some good books or online tutorials that would help a designer get more comfortable adapting their skills for the web?
For more professional video tutorials, www.lynda.com offers a course in Flash for Designers. Although it costs $25 a month for acces, you will be able to get up to speed quickly. And you have access to many other Flash and Dreamweaver and web design tutorials.
Also cool: although Flash CS4 is not out yet, they have a bunch of video tutorials available that show the new features.

When can a client ask for a refund on a website development contract?
I had a client who hired me to build an online ordering system. It was a fairly small contract. $3000. I designed the interface according to his specs, he approved them, I handed the design off to my database programmer to build the database. My programmer said it would take him about 3 or 4 weeks to get it done. I told the client the beta would be ready for him to review in 3 to 4 weeks. 8 weeks later, my programmer was still not done. He’d been delayed for various reasons. He was close, though. I assured my client that the beta was imminent. The ordering system was literally about 95% done at this point. I attempted to explain this to him, even walked him through it, but he didn’t believe me. Even though he was looking right at it.
Two days later he cancelled the contract and demanded a refund of the money he’d already paid, which amounted to $2000 – a $1000 deposit, and another $1000 after he approved the interface design.
Does he have the right to demand a refund?
I think you are going to be OK with this, but I suggest you seek competant legal advice. It’s really complicated and only a lawyer will be able to assist you. Good luck!
Among the two options of an MCSE Certification or a course for website development which one is better?

I am a student of "BA Honors with Double Majors in Finance" and Marketing. For the next two months i am on vacations. I want to utilize this spare time. So i was just wondering which among the two above mentioned courses would be appropriate for me. Moreover as both of these courses are related to computer science, i want to ask if they would be of any use to me?
MCSE and website development both belongs to Computer science field which is of no use in field. Go for some certification in your field in your spare time, like SAP, and others in finance and marketing field.
Does the University of Florida offer courses in Website Development or Design?
I read that it does on Colleges.com but I can’t find it on the University of Florida’s website. I need to know ASAP.
