Please give me a list of the websites that you know that is a good FREE website hosting server and that gives FREE domains…please and thank you!

Diana,

Believe it or not, Micosoft offers free websites and free domain names. These sites are designed for business use, but can also be used for personal sites.

There’s a great article at eHow that describes how to get a free domain name and website from Microsoft:

PostHeaderIcon Do you know of any e-commerce website hosting companies that also handle the shipping for you?

I am looking for a website hosting company similar to GoDaddy.com that has the "Site builder" tools (templates for your site) and e-commerce tools built-in. However, I will be selling only one product – a book. The key is that I would prefer the company to also handle the shipping for me whenever an order is placed.

Does anyone know of a company that offers these services?

I would contact Amazon or other similar companies.
I cannot see any hosting companies offering that service. I have not seen any.

PostHeaderIcon When a hosting website says unlimited domains does that mean you can hold more sites under the price of one?

For example a hosting website says 5.99$ monthly and say unlimited domains does this mean i can hold for example 5 of my websites under the same pland and still only pay 5.99?

Yes, you can host the different sites on one account.
I recommend http://www.hostmonsterplus.com
That’s who I use and I have several different sites hosted through them.
I have to pay for each extra domain, but that’s not too expensive.
Plus they have great storage, transfer and uptime.

If you have any trouble feel free to PM me.

Best of luck to you.

PostHeaderIcon How do I upload a front page of a website to a hosting site?

I made a website on publisher and i cannot upload it to a hosting website

Make sure your file is an HTML file first of all. I’m not sure what type of web pages Publisher would make. If you are uploading to a Windows IIS server, save your page as default.html, if it’s a Unix Apache web server, save it as index.html.

You will need a web hosting account with FTP login username and password. Check out http://www.bluehost.com if you don’t have one. Login to the admin panel and you can upload your file from there. Just look for the FTP or File Upload icon.

If you already have a web hosting account, you need some sort of FTP program. You can even use Windows Explorer if necesarry, but there are better free programs like CoreFTP Lite.

Set up your FTP login and upload your file to the correct directory on your web server. Check with your hosting company for exact instructions for their server. You might need to upload to the www directory, or it could be public_html, or something else. JR

PostHeaderIcon Anybody know a website hosting place with free ftp?

I just wanted to see if anyone knew a web hosting website that hosted for free and provided free ftp along with it. Thanks!

http://110mb.com has this.

PostHeaderIcon I have some questions relating to website hosting and making a custom email address?

I want to make a website, where can I find the cheapest hosting for a website? Also, how do I make those email addresses? e.g. eoin@mywebsite.com – I mean, how do I make my own custom @(Whatever).com? Its hard to explain.

I have been very pleased with Dreamhost. Their regular service provides
- Unlimited Storage
- Unlimited Bandwidth
- Get one free domain with your hosting plan.
Many other great features (http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html).

You can use promo code MAX2009 to get $97 discount. So if you book one year plan it will cost you $22.40 (which is less than $2/month) including domain name and unlimited hosting for one year.

To create email on dreamhost go to: http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Email_Setup#How_do_I_add_an_email_address_at_my_domain.3F

Hope this helps.

PostHeaderIcon What is the best free photo hosting website which you don’t give rights, and which you can use commercially?

I have a flickr, picasa, and my own website. But I would like to host my images, which I plan to use on my website, elsewhere. Flickr you can not use commercially, and picasa you give a worldwide license (similiar on facebook) which I am not fond of.

Are there any good commercially friendly free photo hosting websites?

ust get free hosting :) Change to payed hosting only when you will feel the need.

I recommend 000webhosting. They give you 100gb of bandwidth, 1.5 gb of space and there are no ads.

PostHeaderIcon What blog hosting website should I create a blog on?

What do people think would be a good blog hosting website for creating a blog on? There are a lot I think so I don’t know which would be most useful and versatile.

There are many web hosting providers and you might become confused to choose which one. It is very important that you choose a good web host. Good doesn’t mean expensive. Good means reliable with great support. When you choose a web host, make sure they have excellent support. If you have a problem with your web site you want help now, not in a day or two.

It can be confusing when choosing a web hosting company because they all look pretty much the same and they seem like they know what they are doing. However, I recommend reading reviews from reliable websites so that you may compare and become more familiar with the hosting companies before making a decision. I am a web designer and I have changed back and forth from many companies over the years but my favorite one is FatCow. I am moving all my websites to them as the contracts expire.

Its also really easy to install a blog, I just login to FatCow control panel and browse to “script and add-on” and select installcentral. And there you will find blog scripts available for quick installation.
