How can a teenager start an at home Website development service?
I’m actually almost 12 but i consider myself as a teenager. does anyone know how i can start an at home website development service. These days, the barrier to entry to opening a web business is very low so it attracts many people. That being said, to be successful, you should know a few things about business too not just computers.
Yes, write some code, get a check would seem to work, but what happens when it stops working. Will you take off school to fix it? What if you cost the customer lost time and money? Can they sue you? Customers are very demanding. That is why I don’t consult as much as I used to. When you do something, you become the business. The buck stops with you.
I think you first need to do what very few people do, create a business plan. Write down who you want to be your customers. Determine how you will reach them. What you are willing to accept as compensation. What type of contract you will have. How will you handle disagreements (cuz there will be disagreements). Determine how much time you really have to devote to this endeavor and figure out how you will deliver it to your customers.
I applaud your efforts to do something with yourself. The web certainly is an easier place to create a new type of "lemonade" stand.
Now, as for your website. It is not cross browser compliant. It works differently in FF, Chrome, and IE. You need to work on fixing that. It may be the piczo site library that isn’t CBC.
Also, I think you need to read up on simple user interface design rules. Blue on black is poor contrast. Yellow on blue, black/blue on white, improve contrast and readability.
